CERTIFICATE OF RECOGNITION – NLCSA

The NLCSA’s Certificate of Recognition™ (COR™) Program is a health and safety certification program for employers in the construction and related industries. The program is designed to assist companies in the development and maintenance of a company-wide health and safety management program. Firms receive accreditation upon completion of COR™ training, development and implementation of a company-wide safety program, a comprehensive hazard assessment, and internal and external safety reviews.

Specifically, the COR™ Program helps construction companies understand OH&S legislation, and employer and worker rights and responsibilities. Understanding these rights and obligations can also help firms avoid liability and ensure due diligence. Through participation in the COR™ program, employers and employees in the construction and related industries come to recognize that injury prevention must be an integral part of their business conduct and daily working routine.

OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND SAFETY PROGRAM:

Our Occupational Health and Safety Program encompasses a wide range of health and safety issues. Our OH&S Committee facilitates communication between management and employees with respect to health and safety. Education and training requirements are reviewed annually, and management and employees are provided training at no cost to the participant. Safe work practices and procedures have been developed and implemented to provide consistent methods to safely complete all common and critical activities. Hazard assessments are conducted prior to mobilization to each new worksite and amended if new hazards are identified as work continues. Mandatory toolbox meetings ensure that all identified hazards are communicated with everyone at our worksite, and more importantly, everyone is given the knowledge and means to control or mitigate these hazards. Ultimately, our Occupational Health and Safety Program ensures that health and safety is not viewed as being independent of the job, but instead, is seen as an integral, full-time component of everyone’s responsibilities.

ANNUAL TRAINING:

Our organization conducts an annual training program to provide critical safety awareness to our team. All management and employees are trained in the various Occupational Health and Safety compliance courses and certification of these courses are kept current. In addition to our annual training program, all members of the Occupational Health and Safety Committee receive Occupational Health and Safety Committee certification training.
